Dear Amy, Ben and Alex, I have only just heard. I am so, so sorry for your loss. Amanda came on D of E with me when I ran it at Stowe, and because I taught English (which is next to Art) I often walked to the main mansion or back with her. To me she was exactly as you describe her, Amy - a beacon of dignity, warmth, humour and real, caring, decency - as well as being very, very young and alive. I am so sorry. She was an inspiration to all who knew her - she very much made the world a better, more genuine, more listening, more helping place. She was very, very special.
